Server giving "no more space" messa

How about volume space limits? You may have that much physical space available, but if you have set volume space limits, your users will get that message when they fill their allotment.

Newtware 4 and 5.1 on same network

We are going to install a new NW 5.1 server on our existing network which currently has 3 4.2 servers on it. I intend on making the 5.1 server the master replica and ensuring that NDS on all servers is the latest version- are there any other potential snafus I need to be careful of? Thanks!

    Recommendations of Backup Software?

You have several issues to consider here. 1. Don't span the WAN. This could be a very slow process, depending on the kind of link you have. 2. We use ARCServe here for backup over the wire. From a standpoint of user-friendly and stable, I don't recommend it. ARCServe is okay, but the...

    Long Word save time

I have a user who, when saving changes in an existing Word document to our server, experiences a long save time (about 15 seconds) during which his computer won't do anything else.<br> <br> After saving, everything else works normally. he's using NT4 sp4 and Office 97 SR2.<br> <br> Any...

    server bottlenecks

I am in the process of attempting to optimize performance on our NW4.2 server.<br> <br> Short of using DSTrace and other tedious Novell utilities, is there a product out there that can tell me where my server bottlenecks are? I would want something that shows utilization of: network bandwidth...

converting Mac files to Windows files?

I'll give you a response that works with Office 97 and hope it still applies. <br> <br> There are a couple of options here. If you don't have too many files, rename them on the Mac to include the proper file extension (.doc, xls, etc). <br> <br> Otherwise, open the appropriate Office...

    DLT vs DAT cs Mammoth

I am using DLTs do back up over 100 GB of storage. Works well as far as media goes, although I am not overly excited with ARCserve.<br> <br> To do a complete backup for us takes from 10 PM until 4 PM the next day. Provided you rotate media correctly and use new media for monthly backup, media...

An NLM has been loaded which does not allow low-priority threads to be

As a matter of fact, yes. Would we benefit by changing our strategy to RAID 5 (as regards this)?

    Word and italics

We saw something similar to that here. Never figured out why, but it went away by doing the following:<br> <br> do Edit/select all. Then, set the font size back to what it should be. That changes it back to the correct size and fix it when you save.

    Word templates

Sure. open the template you have and want to make changes to. Then, make the changes and have it looking *exactly* the way you want it to look.<br> <br> Finally, do "Save As" and change to template (.dot).<br> <br> On a Macintosh, you can save it as a normal word document and use as a...

An NLM has been loaded which does not allow low-priority threads to be

run. <br> <br> We occasionally get the above error message on our 4.2 servers. If we do not bounce the server, it will abend. Of course, it does not tell WHICH NLM is loaded, or how I can solve this problem.<br> <br> Any ideas?<br> <br> Thanks.

GroupWise and Outlook working together (yeah right!)

I would wonder why anybody would want to do such a thing. Both provide essentially the same functionality, as far as the end user is concerned. receiving e-mail should be easy to set up, buy I don't have any experience with the calendar or forms management function.
