On NT 4, open a word file that has italics on it, and it opens on about 28 pages, each of which holds some gigantic letter. If I select all of the information on the pages and et the font to one from the font list, it goes back to normal. Any ideas?
Weird. I haven't seen that problem here, but I'm curious. Is the whole document in italics, or just some of it? If you change the font to standard text, then save and close, and reopen, does the font size still go up? What version of MS Office are you running?
We saw something similar to that here. Never figured out why, but it went away by doing the following:
do Edit/select all. Then, set the font size back to what it should be. That changes it back to the correct size and fix it when you save.
It did indeed clear up with your suggestion. It seems to also have stopped doing it now after rebooting the NT Server.
In response to the other question, it is an NT Server, running Office 97 SR-1. It happened on all files, regardless of what had been done to them, if anything.
Very strange.....One of those X-Files things.....
