Does anyone know if it's possible to open an already-created document (based on the Normal template) "into" a new template (that is empty except for some graphic elements) so that the resulting new document has both the existing text and the new graphic elements? I have close to 1000 word documents that need - but don't have - these graphic elements in the headers and don't know how to best go about inserting the graphics. Any and all suggestions welcome!

Sure. open the template you have and want to make changes to. Then, make the changes and have it looking *exactly* the way you want it to look.<br>

Finally, do "Save As" and change to template (.dot).<br>

On a Macintosh, you can save it as a normal word document and use as a stationary pad.

Will this fix her 1000 Word documents? I fear they are pretty much 'cast in stone' with the original template settings they were created with. Another approach would be to record a macro and use it to update each of the files as they become needed. This, obviously, is not a good solution if all 1000 need to be updated at once.<br>
I suspect that there is a way to apply a macro across a group of files, but I'm not familiar with it. Hope this helps.
