    depends on the motherboard. Some can take both, some can only take only one kind. we meed more info. If this is a brand name machine, you can look up the type you need on line at one of the resellers or manufactures sites.

    1. Can your computer map large drives? you may need a boot overlay program. Should of come with the drive. 2. had this same problem with a CD. Turned out CD was bad. Problem fixed when i put in a new drive.

    Does not matter with a machine this old and slow. Windows 95, 98, or 3.1 will not run any faster with 256 meg instead of 128 meg. ECC ram has error correcting and correction circuitry built in and is normally used for servers. A better bet would to find a 233 Petium chip, if it would work for...

    I have decided to call the vendor and ask for a rma # for the mother board. The only question being is the cpu also bad? I bought both from the same place.

    Removed all cards and cables. molex firmly connected I have only monitor, memory, cpu, power supply connected to mother board. also cleared cmos could of mother board or cpu died, they are the only new parts in this box? but they worked for about 4 hours before the problem started.

    Access network drive at startup

    You need to put a link to the network drive in the boot.ini file. access through My computer, r click, properties, advanced, startup and recovery settings, edit. Save old file first.

    Remove the battery on the motherboard for 30 minutes, then start over. Some motherboards have a reset jumper.

    try starting in safe mode to check for driver problems. make sure that sync mode (ultraDMA) check box for drive is NOT checked
