what's the best way to block a Java User-Agent?
specifically Java/1.6.0_13 but will want to for all versions.
Do I do this with a header script?
through IIS Manager?
or where?
I don't see a way to turn off validation.
here is a screen shot of what I have to enter.
for the "Post new items based on" choice, I choose GUID. That and PubDate are my only 2 choices.http://www.charlottecountyfl.com/saxml/tf.jpg
For some reason, maybe what you were talking about.... Twitterfeed won't validate it with the GUIDs - regardless of whether or not I use <z:GUID> or <GUID>
It validates....
Congratulations!

I need help.
I'm trying to create an RSS feed using a .asp page that queries an Access database.
My feed 'looks' OK in the browser, but doesn't validate because of my GUID.
here's the feed.

i'm trying to keep the feed as simple as...
thanks for everyone's input. since I have 11b and g devices, and my network skills are very limited, I'm looking for something 'easy' (for me).
Just not broadcasting the SID would prevent most neighbors from connecting to my network - I think.
I'm also looking into AirSnare. Looks like it may...
maybe I'm just not geeky enough, I don't know. But encryption seems a little complex. Besides just the router config, I also have a mixed network of Windows/Macintosh's, wireless print server, wireless camera - also some are 802.11b was well as 11g.
I know I can set my router to not broadcast...
I'm looking for a way (free hopefully) to find out when someone is using my home wireless network. Maybe with their IP and MAC address, and computer name.
Ideally...rather than monitor it manually, i'd like for it to alert me somehow either by popup window or email.
I have Windows XP Pro and...
I received a PDF on a CD to post to our website.
I opened the PDF from the CD and also opened it off of my hard drive after copying it over. Both times it opened just fine.
I FTP'd the pdf to our webserver, like always, and opened the file in IE and Firefox and both give me this error:

If regular and anonymous proxies are the same - how come when I use Charon, it distinguishes between the two? Is one slower than the other?
As far as the Winsock Proxy Client goes... is this software I install?
I have IIS locally. But of course, I don't want to setup a server. I just want to...
the first 2 points aren't clear to me. So regular and anonymous proxies are the same? I can use both in the same way?
The reason I was looking at SocksCap is because I wanted to be able to use BitTorrent and download files anonymously. So I was looking for something that did more than http...
Forgive my newbieness but I need a little help understanding proxies.
Here's what I think I know (please correct me if I'm misinformed)....
- If I use a proxy server, my IP address will appear to be different than it really is. But somehow still tracable back to my real IP
- Anonymous Proxy...
Hello. I have just installed Charon and found some Anonymous Proxy servers and imported that list into Firefox's SwitchProxy extension.
This is pretty neat and seem work well. I can have it switch my proxy server at specific intervals.
I understand that when I'm surfing using Firefox that I'm...
Excellent outonalimb, the shortcut->task worked beautifully.
thank you!
for the life of me though, I don't understand why that method worked and my original task of C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SHUTDOWN.EXE -S -F
didn't work.
thanks again.
Howdy,
I have OSX 10.2.8 and appartenty the Activity Monitor application doesn't come with it - or maybe it got deleted some how.
Could someone give me a link where I can download this application or email this to me? I've looked all over for it and can't seem to find a download link.
I have tried using the builtin shutdown.exe and the shutdown utility at the above URL. Both work if I go to RUN CMD and then type in the location and commands.
But I can't seem to get it to work as a Scheduled Task.
I went through these instructions
http://www.winxptutor.com/schsd.htm...
Is there a way for me to schedule a task to shutdown my computer at a specific time.
And can I do it without having to click the button on the dialog box to confirm that I really do want to shut down.
Just wondering if there is a way to have my computer automatically bootup at a certain time.
Also, what about shutting down? I tried scheduling a task that called SHUTDOWN.EXE but that didn't work.
