Connecting to Exchange from Remote Outlook Client

Thanks! I'm also wondering if there is a way to work with IMAP4 and set it up so that they can work with their address book/shared folders/calendars in the same way as a direct connection with the ExSvr?

Connecting to Exchange from Remote Outlook Client

I need a way to connect remote outlook clients to the exchange server. Right now I have them using the OWA but I'd like them to use the normal Outlook program. Can someone please direct me to a good resource for setting this up? Or is this not possible without a VPN/citrix/TS connection? Thank...

Getting Mail from Remote Site from Exchange Server 2K

I've been trying to locate information on how to use Outlook client from a remote site to get email and shared calendars from my LAN. Can anyone direct me on how to do this or send me to a good site that has information on it. I've been searching for a while now and not turning anything up. Thanks.

Setting up EX2000, GC can't be located

Thanks for those. I checked them out and looked at the registries on both the DC/GC and the member server: There is only one DC in my domain. So it automatically is the GC as well. The registry shows it being the GC. On the member server in the registry it also lists it as the GC. But I still...

Setting up EX2000, GC can't be located

I'm setting up an EX2000. I loaded it on a Member Server because it wouldn't allow me to DCPROMO it. Everything populated fine. The AD on the EX2K box shows all the users listed on the main DC. The DNS appears to be replicating properly. But when the system loads, all the main MS Exch services...

    NEW SERVER WON'T DCPROMO

After reading that Exchange Server is recommended to run on a member server instead of a DC I just decided to skip trying to promote it. The installation seems to be a success but I can't get the MS Exch System Attendent/IMAP4/POP3/Info Store to start. ??? The DNS is set to the main DC. The AD...

    NEW SERVER WON'T DCPROMO

So I had a main server crash and had to set up a new one...restoring old data/etc. Once I set it up I had to set up a new exchange server...or try to...as I tried to DCPROMO it it won't. Giving me the 5171 event ID. Which I looked up. I've tried the netdiag.exe /fix. It shows the same...

    Can't Send or Receive

Oh and the double bounce or wrong nslookup might have to do with our domain being hosted by our ISP...the ip that you gave...and our 2 MX records pointing 1 to my new exchange and 2 to the old ISP. So that while I set up the exchange/test it...I could turn on/off the firewall port for smtp/etc...

    Can't Send or Receive

I actually got it up and running. It had to do with the extra load balancing NIC card being turned off. Once I turned it on everything worked great(accept for 2 desktops that didn't want to resolve the exchange settings...but that's not an issue now) So...then I had a great time this weekend as...

    DS_E_COMMUNICATIONS_PROBLEM --- New installation EXCH2000

Thank you but I figured it out...I never got training on Exchange 2K and was trying to run it like it was 5.5. I've learned a lot very quickly. There was no need to try to run 5.5 Admin I only needed the Exchange Server Manager. Unfortunately now I'm having connectivity problems...see my other...

    Can't Send or Receive

I've set up a new Exch2K server. I've finally gotten everything set up(or running at least)...all users that were in AD have enabled mailboxes, etc. Now I can't send or receive. Here's the specs: Firewall with incoming smtp port opened to the internal ip of Exchange, ditto for telnet. Outgoing...

I loaded Exchange 2000 Svpk 3 on a W2K server svpk 3. When I try to start up the Exchange 5.5 Administrator it gives me an error: A connection could not be made to the MS Exchange server computer 'myserver' The MS Exchange Server computer doesn't respond. MS Exchange Directory ID no...
