Ok thanks. So what I have to do is modify the individual folders so that they are less than 640 Meg in size each. Right now some of them are larger.
Thanks again for your quick response
Just as I suspected. And the ultimate goal was to store them on CD's. Problem is I am not sure how to break them down. Is there is a way to break them into multiple PST's?
Thanks for the quick reply
We have had several employees leave the company lately with rather large mailboxes (1.5 gig+ each). I have to remove these accounts from the server to save space yet at the same time have someway to access individual emails if required. We are running Exchange 2000 and the clients are running...
Yes well that goes without saying for any server. I always upgrade the bios and firmware on all components, not just the server itself. RAID controller, hard drives, etc. Ho contacted me about this problem 3 months ago when I posted this and told me that the problem is that to run Smart Start...
I bought a ProLiant 6000 last year and set it up with SmartStart 5.5. It would do an ASR (automatic server recovery) reboot about once a day or so. Then after a few it would just boot into the EISA partition and into system setup. I did advanced diagostics and found no problem. I even erased...
I had a W2K domain and had to reinstall the comain cotnroller without backups. I did the installation and said the machine was the domain controller of a domain with the same name. Now any machines with cached information (had logged onto the old domain with the same user) is fine but when I...
Here is the scenario:
Proliant 3000 with dual PII 300 CPU's in a GEN 1 system board (takes small
motherboards with Slot 1 processors as opposed to the processors fitting
into the system board itself). I bought it new with a single CPU and ran NT
4.0. Several years later I bought another CPU...
I did a kernel compile on my server and the new one comes to the part where it tries to mount the boot partition and hangs. I rebooted and loaded kernel.old and the original kernel came up. Instead of copying it somewhere, I just recompiled the new kernel and rebooted, trashing the kernel.old...
Well I found that out the hard way. They want $500 for the server version. So I did some research and found one called Partition Manager from Germany that worked famously, didnt even have to create floppies. And it is only $39!!!! Last time I use Partition Magic, and I have been a loyal user...
Yeah I thought so too. The CPU's are as follows:
SL2HA - Stepping C1
SL2W8 - Stepping A0b
They were both bought directly from Compaq but about 2 years apart. I remember telling them I wanted the same stepping and ASSUMED they had given it to me. It was running NT 4.0 at the time and worked...
I have the latest bios on the machine but opened the box and found out inf act I do have different steppings on the CPU's. The other machien has the matching steppings, had the wrong box open. Is there an way to get W2K server to work with 2 CPU's of different steppings or am I stuck running...
Hello all,
I have been playing with FreeBSD 4.7 and installed it on a proliant 6000 and
so far it works great. The first install went without a hitch and
considering how many times I fought with Linux over the years I am truly
impressed. It took all the defaults and was up and running within...
It depends on the generation of the ProLiant 3000 System Board. The first gen only supported PII 300 CPU's and 512 meg of ram. Second generation supported PII and the third generation supported PII and PIII and have heard rumours they will also hold Xeon processors.
They go by the BIOS, check...
I have a ProLiant 3000 (original board) with 2 - PII300 CPU's. Same speed, stepping, etc. This system ran for years with NT 4.0 server. I wiped the system with system erase, and started from scratch with SmartStart 4.9 (latest I have)
It installed fine but the first time it tried to boot...
I have a ProLiant 3000 with (among other arrays) a mirrored array on 4.3 drives. The RAID controller is a SMART 2DH. It is formattted FAT and the partition is 2.1 gig. Is it possible to expand the partition to use the rest of the drive without losing data? I know Partition Magic 7 supports...
