That's more of the reason why the update hasn't been applied by many. I don't know of a fix, but to recommend reading the docs before applying any new freebies M$ releases.
A user phoned me asking about messages that weren't sent from him to a group he created with several email addresses in it. I looked around and found a log that showed what the problem is, I'm just not familiar with it.
Could someone tell me what this means and how to correct it, please...
Get a program like Mail Essentials or MIMEsweeper. You'll be able to save yourself alot of trouble down the road and have good filtering software. I've not seen anything in Exchange that'll do what I needed or what others want.
I have 3 sites on one domain with Exchange servers. The genius before me put an
Exchange server(5.5) at one location with 5 users. At this point they're doing
DRAS with the server here. I'm wanting to remove the server from that location
completely and put them on POP3. I will also will...
Do something really smart and get mail content filtering software. MIMEsweeper is the best yet, then there are a few others. They do content filtering, scanning, SPAM rejecting, bulk mail monitoring, etc. They're definitely worth the investment once you get it set up. Exchange can't do this...
I've used Notes and Exchange. Notes is solid and incorporates some good functions. Exchange also has some good things about it, but along with many M$ products it comes with security holes and the like. Exchange 5.5 would be better if you could get that. Chances are since Exchange 2000 is...
I use Veritas Backup Exec. There are a few levels of backup with this program. Neither of these require you to shut down the server to get a good backup. My backup is successful each night.
I have Exchange 5.5 SP3, NT 4.0 and SP 6a, and IIS 3.0. I am wanting to do OWA and began reading up on it. I tried installing from the Exchange CD, and I found that I apparently don't have ASP installed. I was told that the NT Option Pack had that and I should install it. I also am supposed to...
After digging through books and all yesterday, I found that I didn't have ASP installed. From what I understand, it's included in IIS 4.0. I downloaded the Option Pack last night so maybe later today I'll be in better shape!
Thanks for the replies!
I have Exchange 5.5 and NT 4. I have IIS 3.0 installed too. I'm wondering about OWA. I'd like to see if I could make it usable by the users. I'm just not sure if everything I need is loaded, how to allow logins, etc. The web svc is running, and I can browse to the same domain name my mx...
I have installed Office 2000 on most PCs in the office here at work. I had many reports of Excel locking up, and sometimes Word. It could just be that they use Excel more often. These users had the Office Assistant running at the time and subsequently had disabled it. Soon after, they're...
I have Exchange 5.5 set up with two domains. Both will allow incoming mail. When I set domain B as my reply-to address, the system administrator sends me a message telling me the msg couldn't be sent because of a communication error.
Could someone lead me in the right direction with this?
I'm not too sure you can do what you're wanting with Exchange. I use a program called Mailwall. I can limit attachments by type or size. I also can limit a certain size to be sent at off-peak hours. You can hold msgs per user if you want, or remove them altogether.
I'd like to know if this really works. I had a user here about 2 years ago that has to be on every spam list in existance. Exchange is creating NDRs, but going to bad addresses just creates another NDR. I'd rather kill the msg when it arrives by e-mail address or domain name. Someone else...
