I have an HP pavilion 505w that won't boot. When I power it up I get 1 long continuous beep and it just sits there at the HP Pavilion screen. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated:
-I'm getting power
-I have video

I'm running XP and having DNS/SL issues. I try to get out to the internet and each page attempts to load but just hangs. I have reset my modem/pc with no luck. I'm able to ping out to the net ex:www.yahoo.com and get valid replies but it won't resolve the name in the browser. Any suggestions...

Is the RPC server dependant on any other service. When I try to start it from command line I get error message "1058 it can't be started because it is disabled or has no enabled devices". When I look at the services it is set to Automatic, but not started.

no luck with either. I can't view my settings for file and print sharing. When I select network connection the folder is empty. I can't browse anything.
I disabled the "server service" and it also shut down my computer browser. Now I can't acccess any of my files on my PC. The thing is I can't start the serivce the same way I disabled it.
Can you enable this from command line???? Or will I have to edit the registry files??
