    Looking Under the Hood

Hi, One of my developers has put together a little Access db that he uses when he wants to write a new report. It has cross-referenced queries for tables/fields. For instance, if he knows a field name, he can quickly see which other tables have a field with the same name. The same thing can be...

    Looking Under the Hood

I have, but I was looking to see if there was a real or 'official' database or ER diagram already in existence, before reverse-engineering one, since there are a lot of tables (518). ____________________________ Dean Waye Manager of Software Dev (IT) dwaye@gtconveyor.com

    Looking Under the Hood

Does anyone have programmer-friendly documentation for 7.6.100 (SQL Server)? A database diagram, an ER diagram, a programming guide... any would be appreciated. Thanks, Dean ____________________________ Dean Waye Manager of Software Dev (IT) dwaye@gtconveyor.com

    Integration with Datastream MP2?

We're also looking into this, maybe as a project for Q3. We have MP2 running in several remote locations, and would like to tie the inventory aspects of both programs into one set of reports, etc. Dean

    Seeing it in use . . .

Does anyone know of a manufacturing company in Central Florida using Macola's IM, OE, etc. modules? We've been using the finance modules for quite some time, but we're starting to implement the mfg modules, and would like to visit someone who's using them. We'll pay for lunch :-) Dean Orlando, FL

    Client Apps on Server?

I kept watching the performance monitor that comes with 2000, and I saw that the memory and processor were barely affected, but the NIC would max out when any user did just about anything, even log in. I've been using the two teamed NICs for a few weeks now, and it's wonderful. I plan to add...

    Client Apps on Server?

Well, in our case the network was the bottleneck. Even with dual gigahertz processors and 1 gig of RAM, Macola just crawled. Yesterday we installed two "teaming" NICS, and performance is tremendously better. We plan to add two more NICs to the team, and put this issue behind us...

    Client Apps on Server?

I am using MSSQL Server 2000. There's nothing else running on the server except Terminal Server (occasionally). I've tested this on workstations that have the 100 MB cards set on full duplex, the server's NIC still maxes out. The database houses 1 year of data, about a gig.

    Client Apps on Server?

I have it (i.e. SQL Server and the Macola apps) running on dual 1GHz processors with 1GB RAM and and 100 Mps NIC/swtich. I'm barely tickling the CPUs and RAM, but the NIC is overworked. Anyone using gigabit ethernet? With just a dozen or so users, it's unacceptably slow.

    Client Apps on Server?

Well then, that's that. Has the release date for ES been announced? -Dean

    Client Apps on Server?

I just started looking at our Macola installation, and I see that the client apps are all on the Macola server, with the users running them via shortcuts to the server. Is this a normal installation? I am getting huge spikes on my server's network card when users run the client apps. It seems...
