I have a NT 4.0 SP6 with Metaframe 1.8 SP3 server. I have policies set up for my local clients so they cannot access the printer settings. I would like to change, or set the default printer for these clients. I figured I could do this using regedt32 and loading each clients user.dat file into...
That's a great suggestion. To answer your other questions, the SCSI drive does show up at boot and there are no errors in the system log. This leds me to believe it's some limitation within NT. It seems as if it may be corrected with something as easy as editing the registry. But, until I know...
Killman,
Thank a million! It worked. Now I'm back to my original problem, maybe you can help. I have a NEC SCSI CD drive that I had installed and running on this server. I recently purchased a IDE CDRW and after installing it NT no longer recognized the SCSI CD. When the system boots the...
I also checked the devices and the pcmcia was disable. When I tried to start it, I got an error that no PCMCIA was found. What is the PCMCIA and what am I missing here?
I did what you said by copying the devapps.cpl from another server. Prior to copying, I tried to execute the file and got an error message, "No PCMCIA controller was found". Unfortunately, I received the same error after copying the new file.
Any suggestions would be appreciated...
Does anyone know the .CPL filename for the Backup Devices or SCSI adaptors in control panel. I'm using Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server SP6 and Metaframe 1.8 SP3.
Thanks in advance,
Jim
dhawthorn,
Do I understand you correctly when you say Tape Devices or SCSI adaptors? Do you mean one or the other, or both? What I recall is it must have been the Tape Devices in my case. Should I be able to config the SCSI CD in the Tape Devices or should there also be a SCSI adaptors icon...
dhawthorn,
There is no icon in the control panel. But, I do now recall setting up my tape backup using an icon in the control panel that is missing now. I don't recall if it was defined as SCSI Tape config or SCSI adaptor config. Either way, the icon is missing. I do know the backup is...
Aslamvs,
I don't see a SCSI Adaptors icon in my control panel. The drivers for my adaptor are installed. When the system boots the bios sees the CD-rom and also when the SCSI boots it sees the CD-rom. For some reason NT will not recognize the drive.
Jim
Hi,
I have a Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server, SP6 with Metaframe 1.8, SP3. I have 2 CD drives, one IDE and one SCSI. The IDE drive is a RW drive and is recognized with or without any CD software installed. The SCSI is recognized at boot by the SCSI Bios but NT does not recognize it at all...
I have some Wyse 2500T winterms that I want to connect to a citrix server, NT 4.0 TSE, MF 1.8 SP3, via Program Neighborhood. I don't want my users to have a desktop. From what I have researched, there are three ways to make this connection. 1) Through the command line of the connections...
I had to connect these terminals to a hub. They would not negotiate with the auto-sensing switch, or vise-versa. There may be other manufacturers of auto-sensing switches that may work. Also, a switch that can be manually set to 10Mbps, half duplex will work.
Good Luck!
Jim
In order to get these terminals to work, I had to connect them to a hub instead of an auto-sensing switch. The switchs I've previously mentioned will not negotiate with these terminals. There may be auto-negotiating swithces avaiable that may work but the ones I have don't. Also, a switch...
