Is anyone using wyse 2500T winterms to connect to a stand-alone NT 4.0 TSE SP6 server with Metaframe 1.8 SP3 using ica-tcp and a staic IP with no DNS?

I have 15 of these winterms and keep on getting a "TCP/IP Error 13 timeout" error. I tried everything I could in the setup but cannot get it to talk to the server. I can connect with the same cable to a PC using the same settings. I can't ping the winterm address from the server and I don't know how to ping from the Winterm. I'm not even sure if there is a way to ping from the winterm.

The network on the server is working fine, and as I said I can connect with a PC using the same setting on the same cable using the same settings.

Any help on this would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Jim

What are the Winterms being connected to
e.g Switch, Hub???
Could be that the Winterms are not negotiating the correct speed or trying to run full duplex.

I'm using a Linksys router and switch which are supposed to auto detect speed and duplex. I have bypassed the router to diagnose. The swtiches led's are signaling a connection at 10Mbps half duplex.

I think I'm going to try a hub to be sure it's not the switch, although I have my doubts. I believe the problem is with the winterm firmware. That's why I'm asking if anyone has these terminals in an NT 4.0 SP6 Metaframe 1.0 SP3 environment.

Thanks, Jim

I had to connect these terminals to a hub. They would not negotiate with the auto-sensing switch, or vise-versa. There may be other manufacturers of auto-sensing switches that may work. Also, a switch that can be manually set to 10Mbps, half duplex will work.

Good Luck!
