Fujitsu are not reliable :O) IBM drive's are not very reliable that is true but not all are clean room jobs.
You can always get an exact PCB match for your drive and see what happens.
What model drive do you have? I can tell you the chances of stiction or PCB failure with more info...
Hello,
Your drive is no use to you any more. Try Fujitsu for a warranty replacement, that is your only choice. If you need the data back you are looking at arount £400 for recovery by a Pro company. Mater tua criceta fuit, et pater tuo redoluit bacarum sambucus

Hi There,
Would be good to check out your BIOS for incorrect SMART detection. Also worth contacting WD support . www.wdc.com
As far as I know they do not like to release any firmware to disti's or end-users. If you get any firmware send it to me also ;)
Hi guys and girls
If the LED on your computer stays on the I would look at your cable, if your running UDMA 66+ and have a duff cable this could be the cause. HDD and MB will have communication problems (CRC errors) and will cycle through the same problem... This causes hang after a while in...
Interesting stuff !
What you want is a high UDMA speed and a High Spindle speed + the correct 80 conductor UDMA 66-133 cable. I have tested 10,000 of drives and the best bet for me is the Seagate Barracuda ATA iV , best made, best looking etc etc ...... Keep it cool though and you'll have no...
