Hi Guys
I've got an apache server which I wish to use in order to give my users web access to (i.e. the ability to download) files in their home dirs. Is there a way to use the users NT domain password/username for authentication?
Please say if clarification's needed.
Cheers.
Hi
We've got an issue with people using MSN Messenger when they shouldn't be. I tried to password protect the program by giving restrictive permissions to the messenger exe on each system and removing the programs shortcut, replacing it with a shortcut to a script which executes a 'runas'...
Alright guys
Is it me or has the plog project, previously located at plogworld.net/plogworld.org, disappeared off the face of the Earth? Does anyone know anything about it? I'm running a version of their software and like it, was just wondering whether it's continuing to be developed.
Hi Guys
I need to get hold of PowerChute personal edition 1.5.0 for XP, and the APC website refuses to let me log in and get it. It doesn't matter how many accounts I create and it doesn't seem to be a temporary problem as it's behaving in the same way it did a month ago. I was wondering whether...
Alright guys
I've got a Xandros box I want to buy a PCI graphics card for so I can use it with the TV. It's an old(ish) TV and only takes the phono-type connection, so the card would need an identical one. I really want something by Nvidia if possible, or something that it'd be easy to get a lot...
OK - got it working(!)
The problem doesn't seem to have been with mod_rewrite.
I looked in the Apache error log for that virtualhost and it was full of "PHP Warning: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated" errors, so I set "allow_call_time_pass_reference" to "true" in php.ini, and...
Hi
I'm running Apache2 on Linux - mod_rewrite is compiled into Apache, so you don't have any of the Load/AddModule line in httpd.conf.
I don't understand what the problem is, becuase Apache says its running, but everything else says it isn't.
Hi
I want to get mod_rewrite working. The commend "httpd -l" says that mod_rewrite.c is "compiled in", and phpinfo() also says that is compiled into apache. There is no mod_rewrite "LoadModule" line in httpd.conf.
I've added the following to the virtualhost 'mysite.com':
Options...
Hi
I get the impression that the single comm. port on the back of the T1500VA model is purely for connection to an expansion card (which slots into the UPS at the back), and that you can't use it for just linking the UPS and 1 PC (I tried the same thing you did and got the same result).
I...
Alright guys - quick question.
In the process of hardening my web server, and came across this: "Let this be a lesson to people to make your /tmp and /var directories on a seperate partition and add the noexec flag to fstab."
Linux is already installed and set up so I don't know whether its...
Hi Guys
Running Debian woody and have been following the qmailrocks.org guide to set up qmail. Everything was fine up until after step 15 where you start installing spamassassin, clam av and qmail-scanner. Once I've done that, and I try to send or receive and email, I get "Error - Server Replied...
Hi Guys
I'm having huge difficulty with Postfix and all those other programs that come together to for a fully functional mail server. I was wondering whether anyone knows of a really simplistic guide on how to put together a mail server with webmail, anti-spam and AV scanning or of a complete...
Hi
Does anyone know how to make up a control cable for a Compaq 1500VA UPS? I really need one but do not want to have to buy one as I'm on a really tight budget. Thanks in advance.

This is only an idea, but perhaps you could get 1 UPS (say UPS1) working with the server and then get the 2nd UPS (UPS2) to power UPS1 so that when the power fails, UPS2 powers UPS1 (and the server), and when UPS2 runs out UPS1 which is attached to the server kicks in and sorts out the shutdown...
Hi Guys
This is a bit of a stupid question (I feel kind of embarassed asking it) but I've tried and tried but have had no success, so was hoping someone in the know could give me a quick answer. How on earth do you get to the 5 3/4in drive bays in the Compaq 3000 (where the CDROM drives are)...
