    you aren't going to find it as a child of the info store. if the mailboxes are indeed on the tape, they will be displayed in restore selections just as they are in the backup selections. are you sure that the backups of the mailboxes were succesful?

    arobe: We have had a few workstations which use the Onstream drives. unfortunately, they are constantly having problems. we had to replace most of them and go with DLT or AIT. Those drives are more expensive, but far more reliable (and much faster)

    Pretty sure that BE ships with these agents. i'm not sure about the os9 agents (dunno what versions are supported)... if you have a multi-server edition or whatever it was called, you already own the agents. you should be able to run setup and push them out. check the manual for details, or...

    No. 10 is not a lot. I'm pretty sure that softwrite errors are not your problem. Try software compression and see what compression you are getting. It should tell you - per set - how effective the compression is. Did you try the NT or 2000 native backup to see if it's getting similar results?

    PalmStrike: So there's no message in the log saying that any compression is being used? The job's properties say it's supposed to use hardware, right? if that's the case, all BE does is send the command to the tape drive to enable it. if it's not there, you won't see an error. Try switching...
