I did some research here and found out that this is a normal outcome of large drives (I will eventually understand the technical reason for this)
Thanks again
Thank you for the clearing this up. I was never sure if there was a proper way of setting up the IDE.
Due to the placement of hd and opticals in my case I will have to go both hd on Primary and both opticals on secondary. This will not effect performance in any way, correct?
Almost there....
SATA-MASTER
Primary IDE--2 ATA (1 MASTER THE OTHER SLAVE)
Secondary IDE--(CDR'S) BOTH slave
OR
Primary--1 ATA, 1 CDR
Secondary--1 ATA, 1CDR
OR
????
Thanks again.
Quick question..
I have 3 hdd, 1 is a SAMSUNG SATA 120G, the other 2 are MAXTOR ATA133 20G each.
The SATA will be considered the master, and the other 2 will be jumped as slaves along with the 2 cdr's, correct?
If not, please tell me of another way.
Thanks in advance.

I have not done much reading on the subject, but I was wondering, is there a huge difference with cable modems. I currently have a Toshiba PCX2500 working with a Netgear RT314 Router. I have 2 pc's home networked and internet decreases when both pcs are on line. Not sure if its modem related...
I have 2 pc's using a NETGEAR RT314 router. If both users are using the internet at the same time, is it normal for one user to have slower internet browsing? If not, is there anyway to adjust the router to accomodate multiple users.
Thanks in advance
(Both pc's are running XP)
Does anyone know if there is a way I can combine to pc's to use 1 monitor, keyboard and mouse. I currently have 2 seperate units, both running XP.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
Just to confirm: I would have do the above to each user, correct. Because I get the same message no matter which account I log into. I just want to make sure before I try any of the above.
Thanks.
I had to re-install Nortons Internet Protection on my XP
PC. Now every time I log on to my PC I get this
message "ONE OF THE FILES CONTAINING THE SYSTEMS REGISTRY
DATA HAD TO BE RECOVERED BY USE OF A LOG OR ALTERNATE
COPY. THE RECOCERY WAS SUCCESSFUL. How do I stop this
from appearing...
Thanks for tip!
I have changed my mind and this is what I have just done.I took the 98 HD and put it in my other pc. All i needed was some important pictures(98 was familypc).
I am going to install a new OS.I have 98, ME & Win2k. I probably will go with the 2000. I am sure I'll be back with lots...
