If this question has been asked before, my apologies but trying to get a handle on how or an idea of hardware needed to run OpenLDAP decently. Is there a general rule of thumb? I realize some of it will depend on how often records will be updated, created, replication and probably some other...
to get a ball park idea of how many users sendmail can handle and not drive the load average over 2 or 3? Or do I need to start with a given number of users and go from there? Basically I have have no clue how to figure any of this out and hope someone here will whack me with a clue bat.
Um, dunno zbnet. Haven't tried that. I wanted to get a better handle on things before I start poking things with a stick and call them to fix my screw ups :)
When I get a chance, will look.
Admins won't let me have anymore server room, which I don't mind and have no problem with.
Archiving would let me keep them for sure. But I was looking for a way to make Outlook use local folders for the contents of those archives.
At least I think that describes what I want to do. If at all possible I would like to avoid pst.
The problem is this. I keep running out of space on the exchange server. Naturally I want to keep all that mail. What I want is to have a copy of that on the client that I can use in Outlook(XP)...

It's not that there is a bottleneck. The box is just something I've been fiddling around with at home as a file server. I was just wondering if it could support something faster is...
Switched this machine from Win2k to Mandrake 9.1RC3 and during bootup I saw this error for the ServRAID card;
SCSI subsystem driver Revision: 1.00
Warning: Adapter 0 Firmware Compatible Version is 2.86.03. but should be 2.88.33
Warning: Adapter 0 BIOS Compatible Version is. but shold be SA510...
Thanks. Seems this unit is already current on BIOS v28.1 I think it was. Hmmm, there does not seem to be that many updates since 98/99, I was expecting more. Linux is running on the box so MS stuff does not concern me.
Anyway, thanks again.
I must be a complete dolt but cannot find the lastest/last firamware updates for the system board, Raidserv and 7880. Or for that matter what the lastest revisions are.
