Thanks for this, eventually I noticed that the Arcserve for some unknown reason added a pre / post command in the options area for the job (because I certainly did'nt put it there!). I removed and it seems fine now. Great software this Arcserve stuff! Thanks again for advice.

Try using the gcc compiler.. (Gnu C Compiler). Free package, download and install from www.sunfreeware.com. Make sure the compiler is pathed correctly after install.. Good luck.

We had something similar with an E450 when we did a complete machine rebuild.. You need make sure you have got the RAID drivers installed otherwise it won't pick it up on boot..
