I'm a bit confused :)
I have a folder Windows.old on my new computer's hard drive (from my last computer).
I think I dragged it over from the old drive in order to make sure I didn't delete anything important until I was ready to just delete it all.
But now it appears that Windows.old...

I can on the other hand listen to music CD's, open audio files from my hard drive, etc...
Just can't hear anything when I'm browsing say YouTube or MySpace or a flash site...anything.
How can I figure out which audio codecs are actually installed, and which I need...
Not exactly sure what to list. I went through my Add/Remove programs list and this is what I came up with:
NERO 7
ITUNES
QuickTime
RealPlayer
Xvid MPEG-4 Video Codec
DivX
GPL MPEG-1/2 DirectShow Decoder Filter
High Definition Audio Driver Package - KB888111 (not sure what this is)
Realtek...

I was reading that their could possibly be an issue between my PCI graphics card & the soundcard. Switching to AGP may do the trick.
Do people generally have issues between their soundcards & a PCI graphix card?
Hi All:

I don't know where to start. I installed an M-Audio Audiophile 24/96...sounds great. But every now and again the audio stutters...say I'm playing an MP3 in iTunes, Quicktime or Windows Media Player...Also when I'm writing music it will happen.
I've...
I've been unable to find a solution for correcting this myself. I've been reading however, that unless you buy the same monitor model around the same time - part of the same batch basically, it's difficult at best to get them the same.
Is there any truth to this?

I've been using one monitor since February, it came with my comuter. The other arrived yesterday. Both monitors are set to the Factory settings, but the colors are severely mismatched. I've tried adjusting the Gamma...
Hi:
Never had a clue as to what to do about virus protection. Nod32 has detected the following four problems. There was no option to delete the infected files, so I don't know if that's my job to delete them, or IF I should even delete them.
If I delete them, will is chop & screw my system...

I've been trying to reverse RAID-0 without any luck. I want each of my two drives at full capacity. I intend on backing up to disc a couple times a week...my goal is to get a new system in a years time.
I don't care about the information on these drives, it can all go away. I know of some...

I installed the One Touch drivers from the CD, then downloaded the updates from Maxtor for XP.
All connections are solid + powered on.
However, in 'System' > 'Hardware' >...
I did quite a bit of stupid stuff.
For instance, I ran Maxblast software because my internal drive wasn't being located. I did re-format a drive, but now I'm not sure if it was the external/internal.
Question: Is it possible to format an external drive when it is switch 'off' but is stilly...
I re-installed Windows and encountered a host of problems, but the most serious by far is that my external hard drive, a Maxtor 80G cannot be seen. But this is also the case on another computer.
I've installed the One Touch software & USB drivers, it just doesn't show up...not in Disk...
Ok...excuse my thickness.
I tried going into the FastTrak utility to erase the Array (I believe this is what you meant by breaking up the pack). But every reboot the array automatically re-configured.
So I still have RAID 1 + 0.
In disk management, I made a new partion of 40G for some reason...
