Have you tried Microsoft Regclean? This cleans your registry for you and makes a backup if you ever want to revert the registry back to whenever you cleaned it.

I have a Toshiba Portege 7020CT. It has has it's hard disk formated. I have a copy of Windows NT but with no boot disk!!!! I now have a decent laptop that is unusable. Can anyone help please?

You can download a program called startpro which you can get free. Try download.com - Using this is easy and you can see everything run on startup. You can then put things running you dont need in the "smart bin" and recall them later to be used on startup. A bit like the recycle bin...

I have a database I created a few years back in Access 97. Im now trying to open it on a new machine using Access 97 and the message "unrecognized database format" and then the path of the database. Can anyone help?

make sure that no device or display are sheduled to go down after a certain time limit. e.g. screensaver or monitor. If it still happens you have a sector error on your H/D. Try re-install of windows. Or try to skip sector.
Having tested a hp 7200 external cd re writer i know it works and does not conflict with the burning software, "nero". It does however conflict with Novel netware we use on our network. It stops us being able to log on when it's in the back of the drive. It conflicts with win 2000...
when i boot this particular pc "hard disk controller 1 failure appears and when in bios nothin i do seems to get rid of this msg when i reboot. when i press f1 to continue i get "no boot device available!" can anyone help?
