csplev -- can you run the lotus backup first and then the other server? cokeandsushi -- if you are not backing up using the lotus notes agent, how can you restore? Do you stop lotus notes before the backup? Otherwise, won't it see the files as in use by Notes and just skip them?

You need to have a file with a .dir extension in the default Notes\data directory pointing to any databases you have that don't reside there. ALso, there are a bunch of Notes service packs you need. Look at q021794, q022616and qo22886 on the ca website.
