Because of security issues we have been instructed that we would not use SMTP. We understand that you can(if desired), only put in the IP address of the server where the app is located using SMTP and this would only allow this server to get through. But management has decided against it.
On my mail server, I have it configured to use Mapi mail instead of SMTP. We have a third party application that also sends mail to users from this app. Whenever this happens, I will receive a popup asking if I want to allow this. The developers of this app have told us to use SMTP to solve this...

Usige, I tried the steps that you recommended with no luck. Here is my setup in the /etc/netsvc.conf and resolv.conf files. Let me know what you think. Also anyone else who may have setup DNS on your AIX server.
