FTP Umask 4

Can anyone tell me what needs to be done to change the umask for files that are FTPd? I have tried changing the user umask and I tried using the "site umask" command in FTP, this only changes it temporarily, once you log out it reverts back to its original setting. We use an automated FTP process and I need the files to have a specific umask once they are FTPd over to the other server.

hi,

look in /etc/inetd.conf for ftpd entry

e.g.
ftp stream tcp6 nowait root /usr/local/bin/ftpd ftpd -u 113 -l

use the -u umask -l option to set umask
you then need to refresh inetd & check again
