Hello All,
I am looking to map two drives, (one from one school and one from another school) to our new 2003 server. Is there a easy way I can do this without installing the client? Does this make sense? We are using the Parent Connect software from SASIXP if some of you are familiar with and...
Thanks for the info but we don't run any antivirus on the server. I usually scan it once a day with another machine.
Marv, I tried to run the update last night from 65sp3 to 65sp5 and it fubar'd my system. Thank god I did a backup before I ran the update. When the system came back up it stated...
Ok thats good to know. I rarely touch the Novell servers once I get them setup, and it is nice to not have to deal with them except for the occasional power outage or new user.
Thanks for the information. I downloaded the patch and expanded it and will wait till later to install it. I want to...
Hey Marv,
Thanks for the info. Kind of confusing in a way with the new Linux and all.
Have you run into any problems upgrading GroupWise? I just like to research before doing any updates to be prepared for the Gotchya's.

I have a Netware 6.5 sp3 system running that holds our Groupwise 7.0 system. Recently it has started crashing, or shall I say abending about after 5 to 7 days. I looked on Novells site and there is mention of this issue and that if I update the server to the latest service pack it should not...
Hey Marv,
Well just it is weird on our servers. One is lower on memory than another server. So just looking for ways to streamline them. Also my Groupwise box abended twice since it has been up for a year and part of it was memory looks like.
Well thanks for the info and I will try those...
Hey Marvin,
Yeah I am still here. Probably retire here unless I can find something better that pays better, but i'm dreamin.
Anyway have you seen servers use almost 3/4's of thier memory to run?? I mean with 2 gig and all I have left is almost 400MB left?
Anyway I was hoping that would help...
Sorry the server reads:

Hello All,
I have Netware OES 6.5Sp2 running on my servers. In the memory area I click on Tune Logical Address Space and I am taken to a screen that shows me memory stats for before and after if I click on the change link.
I notice though that it tells me that if I do this I need to add the...
Thanks for the info on what those two are. I checked the switch through the web interface as well as the switch that the fiber connection is coming from and the switch the fiber connection is going to. The only thing different on the one I was having problems and the others is that I saw flow...
Well I just checked the ports and they are running at 1000LX and auto flow control. Now what they are hooked to on the other link for the fiber I will have to look into. LACP? STP? Don't see that in the configuration.
Forgive me for asking but what are those two that you listed for.
Thanks for...
Hello All,
Ok we are a small school district in Idaho and we just had our own fiber laid through the district. So from our High School back to our Grammer School.
From 4 of the 5 schools I can ping my ftp box and server anywhere in the district and get a <1ms response time.
From one of the...
Well the system does shut down properly with no errors of any kind actually. I will check into the article on the corrupted hive but also the one on CHKNTFS and try that one first and see what happens. I also have SpinRite6 that I will run on it to see if it may be a disk issue.
I will keep you...
Hello,
I have one system in the district here that has WindowsXP and when you boot the system up after a long night you do not see it scandisk. If you turn the system off for a few class periods and then turn it on, or you restart the system you will be prompted to stop a scandisk that will...
Thanks,
I knew there had to be a easy way to get that. If I would of played around with it a little more maybe I would of got it. Thank you very much Brent. This has been driving me nuts for a long time now, and now I can move on to other small problems.
Thanks Again

Hello I hope I have a simple question. I want to remove the name and information from a user to change it in ConsoleOne for the user under General. When I try to it brings up a down arrow and a list of things I have already done to the user. I want to clear those all out. Any ideas how?? This is...
OK I have downloaded and printed the Docs from novell and the program and I also will try the test scopes. Hopefully we can get the funding for Fibre in our district and I won't have to worry about this again, if we go wireless again then it is very much needed. Thanks for all your input. I do...
Ok well I do not think I can devulge to much when saying for our district we use 172.16.0.0 - 172.16.255.255 with a subnet mask of 255.0.0.0
And the DHCP server doles out addresses from there. One server one huge range. Again it works good but if the link goes down were dead in the water. Is...
I am sorry if this is a stupid question to follow, but how do I keep the schools from grabbing another schools ip's?
I have one subnet ( if you are refering to the subnet mask) for the whole district while having certain IP ranges for each school. Is that a better explanation for what I am...
Is there a TID or a document somewhere that explains this. I am still a little confused. So if I setup the main range on the HS server. Then at each school setup DHCP and make a range on that server that is in the range on the high school server and that is it?
These are 4 seperate servers...
