MSM 422 and multiple VLANs for a VSC

Starting to think I am confused more than I thought. When I watch the phone boot, it obtains an IP address, and then releases it. Then obtains another IP address. Why does the phone release the first IP address? Thanks.

MSM 422 and multiple VLANs for a VSC

Is it possible to use multiple VLANs in a VSC? We have a Mitel phone system which requires access to the default VLAN and the Phone VLAN when obtaining an IP address. I have not found anything in the documentation stating I can do this, but hoping someone has some experience and can send me in...

    MSM422 and WPA

I reset the AP to the factory defaults and everything is working now. I am guessing this was a configuration error on my part. Jay

    en1 frequent transitions

In one of the offices I maintain, I am seeing the following logged in all of the MacBook's system logs. Frequent transitions for interface en1. Network traffic reduction measures in effect. The access point has been replaced and the problem is sporadic (at best). I am guessing this is...

    MSM422 and WPA

Earlier this month, I purchased several MSM422s to replace some older wireless equipment. I have run into what I think is a configuration error on my part, but I cannot figure out where I have gone wrong. Radio 1 is set for G mode. Radio 2 is set for monitor. Channel 7 is selected I have not...

Connecting to a MetaFrame Server with Safari

What we have finally found is our parent organization has "Classic Printing Support" turned off on the Citrix servers. Therefore a third party application, such as Screwdrivers is needed. Tricert is releasing an OS X version of Screwdrivers in the near future. Jay

    Adobe Reader and Aficio 7500

Currently, we are using a Ricoh Aficip MP 7500 for printing. Hole punching/stapling works fine from other programs NeoOffice, Text Edit, etc. However, when printing from Adobe Reader, the 7500 will not hole punch. Any suggestions as to where/what setting I should be looking at? Thanks, Jay

Connecting to a MetaFrame Server with Safari

I am working with Citrix on OS X for the first time and I have myself confused. We are connecting to our parent organizations MetaFrame server through Safari. We are able to make the connection, but we cannot print, or save to the local drives. Is there a setting I need to change so the...

    Address Book Question

I have Address Book querying the company's ldap server. When I try to select multiple entries from the address book to send e-mail to, only one is placed in the To field. I am selecting the recipients and the clicking send e-mail. Should I be doing this differently? And, is it possible to...

Mac Mail and Address Book give different results

I have this resolved. When searching on the LDAP server, I had the indexes created, but did not have the correct index created. I have to use the sub index type. Hope this helps someone in the future. Jay

Mac Mail and Address Book give different results

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am using Mac Mail to query an openLDAP server for e-mail addresses. This morning I discovered, I could not retrieve some of the entries from the server using Mac Mail. When I used address book, I could retrieve all of the entries. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jay

    Wireless Weirdness

Yes, it happens on all channels. I think I found the solution this morning. When using a Cisco AP with non-Cisco devices, they recommend enabling arp-caching and checking the box for "Forward ARP Requests To Radio Interfaces When Not All Client IP Addresses Are Known". This seems to have...

    Wireless Weirdness

I have run a packet capture and what I have seen is the Mac is not answering ARP requests. I see the Who has 10.129.20.47? Tell 10.129.20.1. But I do not see a response from the Mac. Running OS X 10.5.5. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jay

    Incomplete MAC Address

I have run into a problem, and I am at my wits end trying to figure out what is going on. Occassionally, clients will lose their connection to the WAN. My network consists of OS X clients, a Cisco 1131AG Access Point, a ProCurve 2626 switch and a Adtran NetVanta 3305 router...

    Wireless Weirdness

I have been experiencing intermittent connection problems and this morning I was able to find what might be the culprit, but I would like to know if anyone else has seen this problem. Periodically, I will be disconnected from my company's WAN. I am able to access everything on the LAN side...

OS X address book and LDAP

First, thanks to everyone for their help. In case anyone else runs into this same problem, this is what I have found so far. 1. Addressbook uses gn (given name) and sn (surname) to assemble a complete name. I could not get it to use CN. 2. Addressbook looks for mail to be used as the...

OS X address book and LDAP

I think I asked the wrong question. Where can I find a list of the attributes OS X's address book is looking for when querying an LDAP server? I need to return a name and e-mail address. From what I have read, I should be looking for displayName and mail. Does this sound reasonable...

OS X address book and LDAP

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have been asked to interface OS X's Address Book with my company's existing LDAP server running on FreeBSD. Basically, they want to be able to pull e-mail addresses and names from the LDAP server. Where can I find a list of what attributes OS X's address book is...
