No it is not normal currently there are different thoughts on why it is happening but nothing substantiated yet. If they are compaq machines a thought is it is the Auddriver. I'm not sure what it is yet.- MKCB

Adding items to the Hardware Inventory
Jeff, Have you tried using the mofman (smstools) and editing the sms_def.mof file on the sms server to inventory the specifics you have been looking for. There will 2 files if you do a search one under sms\inboxes\clifiles.src\hinv This is the path you want too modify the other will update...- MKCB

SMS 2.0 Client and IBM Client Access V3R2M0 for Windows NT
