    VM on Phone

Actually, reset the password in CallPilot manager and logged into callpilot manager. Seems that they had dropped in an alternate voicemail box for that extension. Once it was cleared out, it worked fine. Appreciate the replies.

    VM on Phone

Couple of requests to our Maintenance Contract guys and still no call back (after a few days)... so I figure it may be easy enough to do on my own. Have a co-worker who's extension is 302. Created a VM box for him with same extension, however VM alerts for another extension show up on his...

    Unorthodox Recovery Method... Pls comment

Evolution from my other thread... Basically I have Exchange tape backups that I need to be restored. Tapes will not restore unless E2K is installed. BUT E2K will not install unless GC can be reached. Found System State backup of old DC, BUT cannot restore onto different hardware (went...

    FUBARed Exchange Recovery...

Zelandakh/rtichnor, What was backed up was "Microsoft Exchange --> Server Name --> Information Store" Looking into the Aelita Recovery Manager now. Is there any way of restoring the tapes without E2K installed? Wanted to see what files where in there.

    FUBARed Exchange Recovery...

Attempting to recover some old backups of E2K from tape (done using W2KS's backup utility). I don't need them to be live, I just need to be able to export and print e-mails from an ex-employee. Problem is that only the storage groups are backed up. The original system consisted of one DC...

    Mirrored HDD

At the place where your techs were, did they already have the RAID option purchased? Not too familiar with the BCM, but I can see two scenarios: 1) The client may have already purchased the RAID option, and when the two drives were replaced, it saw the second one as blank and tried to...

Was kinda hoping it was software RAID :)

    Mirrored HDD

New to the BCM system (we just picked one up). After looking at the insides, the HDD looked like a standard 20Gig HDD. I know that they offered a mirroring option, but is it necessary to purchase a kit from Nortel? Figured that since it's based on NT 4.0, there may be some way of dropping in...

Is this an acceptable way of moving AD?

Work for a small biz (so there is little AD user changes, etc), and they are moving offices. Not too strong on AD and am running this by in hopes that someone will point out if I am doing something stupid... Right now the old site has one forest with one DC/AD server, along with Exchange on...

Have a Norstar Startalk Flash syste

Thanks for the reply. Saves me a few hours of trying to shorten something that can't be shortened :) The second suggestion is what I have now... however it only works if the caller enters a number. After a certain number of seconds, it automatically transfers to the operator, in which case...

Have a Norstar Startalk Flash syste

Have a Norstar Startalk Flash system, and trying to set it up almost like an answering machine. Caller calls in --> Hears Company Greeting --> Hears Customized Automated Attendent Prompt (chance to enter extensions here)--> Automatically go to General Mailbox 2 problems. 1) there is a long...

HELP! Can't locate RFC regarding delayed e-mails.

Hi all, Was wondering if anyone can point out the specific RFC or e-mail standard pertaining to handling of delayed e-mails. Situation is this: my SMTP server sends out an e-mail to their server. Their servers bounce around the e-mail for 2 hrs within their own network. Client that uses...

HELP!!! Can't get to RRAS configuration page

Trying to setup an RRAS/VPN server on my ISA box. Looking for ideas why I cannot connect to the server in the RRAS MMC (little red x every time). Had two errors so far... one said that it could not use RRAS because no certificate server was installed (don't remember doing this for the last VPN...

SLOW BROWSING WITH VERIZON DSL CONNECTION

If you are in the east coast, it may be verizon that is having issues. Supposedly (my ISP claims) they are having problems with one of their backbones, and everyone is crawling. My d/l speeds have been kicked down to roughly 2X a 56K modem.

Help with Two Active Directory Forests

Bump. ;) After a complete reformat and reinstall of both machines, I have also tried using a DNS method, where xyz.com has Primary DNS for xyz.com and Secondary for abc.com, abc.com has Primary DNS for abc.com and secondary for xyz.com. Pinging each other, they resolve just fine. However...

Help with Two Active Directory Forests

Trying to setup two separate forests and establish a one-way transitive trust between them. They are both internal domains, so I am not 100% how to go about it (dunno how to make them see each other without a public DNS). Not too strong on AD, subnetting, etc, so this is a learning experience...

List of DNS errors... can anyone show me how to fix?

Hi Glen, It's just that on the first server, with Reverse DNS zone's that look like 333.222.111.in-addr.arpa fail the reverse DNS lookup test at dnsreport.com -- however, the second one with 111.222.333.x Subnet zone comes out OK. I checked and they map out to the correct names.

List of DNS errors... can anyone show me how to fix?

List of DNS errors... can anyone show me how to fix?

No1shome, Thanks a million. My first DNS server, so wanted to make sure everything was right. Also, just wondering if you happen to know why the DNS Management console for my two servers look different under the Reverse Lookup Zones. i.e. assuming ip address 111.222.333.444 One shows...
