    NF3500 boot fails

Yesterday I loaded a new OS (win2k3) on an NF3500. The machine has serverraid in raid5. The OS installs without problem including doing the different reboot cycles during installation. However, once the install completes and the machine attempts its first boot, it hangs after the Windows...

setting write through / write back

I'm trying to diagnose a disk size error under serverRAID. I notice one of the disks in a Raid 5 array is set to write back. The others are set to write through. Is this likely my problem? I dont seem to be able to change the setting using the serverRaid tools. Is that a configurable setting...

    ServerRaid & Netfinity 3500

What version of ServerRAID bios should a NF3500 run? Can I put a serverRAID-3L card in a NF3500? What do I need to do about bios updates for the card and for the server to make that work.

    ServerRAID-3L

I've been doing some more reading and I think this condition may be due to incompatible bios levels in the server. Problem might be I am trying to install this to a Netfinity 3500 server. Since the latest server bios is 1999 (present on this machine) could someone tell me if I need to update...

    ServerRAID-3L

I just bought a secondhand serverRAID-3L card. The bios on the card is 7.1018. I'm having some trouble configuring 3 disks in 2 arrays. The 3rd disk (single disk array) always goes defunct when I hit the "Apply" button. I'm wondering is the current bios correct for this card. What version of...

    NF5500 video problem under linux

Thanks Catorze Yes, the low resolution is more a nuisance than a problem. Anyway, for the benefit of any other members who run across this I fixed it with vga=788 at the root prompt. Can also be changed at the grub interface.

IBM ServeRAID problem with windows 2000 or XP

I've never had any trouble with Win2k, but you seem to have something a little different there. I think there maybe a serverraid version with software config to launch win2k installation on the ibm site (not sure - but check it out) In any case if you get the drivers and copy them to a floppy or...

    NF5500 video problem under linux

    Fibre Channel and NF5500

I have fitted 6 new fibre channel Ultrastar disks to a NF5500 and everything seems to work fine. Checking the IBM site for updates I see there are a plethora of files and patches for fibre channel on an NF5500. I guess I dont understand enough about the technology. Could someone help me with...

    Set Up Process

This is a really basic question from a very new Domino admin. Real NEW. I'm trying to set up a Domino domain on Linux servers. Install is no problem. Getting a remote Windows client running is no problem either. Where I'm completely phased is in setting up the servers. First server1 then server2...

Also want to increase disk capacity

Like others in recent threads I want to increase disk capacity on a PC330 server & also a NF5500M10. My questions are about how to decide which disks to use. I have checked the ibm site to get specs. However neither machine currently has disks with P/Nrs, Fru/Nrs or model numbers specified on...

    Linux & ServerRaid NF3500

I've got some retired IBM servers (PC330, NF3000, NF3500, NF5500)that I want to bring back to life in a SuSE Linux network. When installing SuSE it seems to pick up all the drivers etc fine, but I'm not sure how well it is working with the IBM ServerRaid on the machines. For safety sake I...

    How does this happen?

Hi Forum, I'm toying around in a test network that has 3 machines: two Win2003 Domain Controllers and one Win 2K client. The first DC also serves DHCP to the client. Everything was fine until I booted the second DC. Then the client's Event Viewer (System log) filled up with this error: Event...
