select the 'split box' (top of vertical scroll bar or right of the horizontal scroll bar). the cursor will turn into double vertical bars with horizontal arrows when you're on it. click and drag it to where you want. then go to window menu and select freeze panes.

if they're all nine digit numbers you could custom format the worksheet as '000000000'before you import. i also vaguely recall a way to do this with text to columns but i'll have to go and find it.

fatih excel only allows 256 columns so you wouldn't be able to transpose any number of rows greater than that. that limitation aside, another option for transposing is to use paste special>transpose on the edit menu

you could use =SUBSTITUTE(A1," ","")
