We have a fastora T2 NAS that has two 250gb WD hard drives in it. We have not used this device in quite some time but are once again getting ready to utilize it. We have run into a problem after setting it up.
We cannot seem to delete or overwrite a file once its been written to the nas. We...
Ok got the copy problem fixed. That was caused by a firewall setting....not sure how I missed that the first time I looked at it.
Settings on firewall are now all clear but I still am unable to backup. I have read on MS's site about a backup problem with windows 2003 server and that SP1...
1. Are you using Active Directory? Did you set up security permissions to those folders?
2. Are the shares setup for read only access? To find out right click on the shared folder, then click on sharring tab, then permissions button. The everyone item listed make sure its not set just to...
Server 1 ( the one I am trying to backup and move files from) has 7.8gb of space left on the drive I am working on.
Server 2 has over 250gb of space available.
I have been backing up using windows backup utility to backup to a sharred network drive (another server {server 3}). That way I...
I have a windows 2003 file server that is also our domain controller. I am having a few problems that just recently cropped up and I am wondering if anyone has any ideas. In addition I am also looking for some short term solutions.
The windows backup software is no longer working for one of...
Are you opening these files from a network share or locally stored file?
Sounds to me more like a network problem than a hardware problem. System IDLE will almost always use the majority of the system resources....you can ignore that one.
Screach.....the sound of your world coming to an end...
Ok I understand the first two.
The 3rd I am not sure I understand. The #1 router does not manage my DHCP for the entire network, just for a few machines. The W2k3 servers manage Static IP's for the rest of the network and that is outside the scope of the #1 Routers DHCP.
Currently I have it...
Hey All,
I have a Linksys WRT54GS and I am trying to use it as a wireless access point to our W2k3 Network.
I can get to the point that it will allow people outside of the network onto the internet but I cannot get it to allow them to see/browse the internal network.
Set up is as follows:

Can anyone point me in the right direction.
I am looking to have one single database to manage nothing but User ID, Password and Permissions - we will call this database A.
I then have 6 (B - G)different databases which all have a Users table for ID's and Passwords. I want to have the...
Without seeing exactly how you are using PHPLinks I cannot answer with perfect certainty. (Post your websites link and I can be more specific or e-mail me at jreach72@yahoo.com)
Basically though, if you want to take portions of the database and integrate it into PHP Nuke thats no problem...
Ok,
Here is the situation and problem. Inherited a DNS flawed network with currently 2 machines replicating DNS, AD and WINS. One the primary dc is w2k. The second machine is a 2003 enterprise server.
I want to remove the 2k machine from the network all together but because I have not been...

Ok, so after more research and digesting what you have said I agree. Now my problem is the following.
I want my W2k3 machine to be my PDC and I would...
Ok so here is my situation (major pain at the moment.)
I have inherited a network which needs fixing in a bad way. I have a W2K Server which is set-up as PDC running DNS and AD. I have a W2K3 server which is set-up as a DC running DNS and AD with full push pull replication with the PDC.
The...
Ok maybe I am stupid....I admit it from time to time as a Unix, Lynix guy and old NT guy 2k and now 2k3 can throw me at times.
The purpose for us using the router for DHCP and our ISP's for DNS (router just passes the right DNS server down line) is to avoid network outage due to Windows 2k...
Phil,
I to have run into this problem recently. About 2 weeks ago our network (2 servers 1-W2k3 Ent, 2-W2k Standard) 40 Windows 2k Pro Machines and 4 Windows XP Pro machines.
The problems started one week after installation of a new T1 connection (so immediately I was looking at the router...
Hello,
I am curious of the means by which you all scandisk and defrag your network computers. We are looking at various options and are trying to determine the best method in which to put into place.
Screach.....the sound of your world coming to an end at the sight of the dreaded BSOD!
