Got a question. I have a couple of Web sites I run in my spare time. I created a site (Site A) using the phplinks script found at a couple of years ago. I'm in the process of building another site (Site B) and have implemented phpnuke (found at on it and am about to start populating/building. I'm mightily impressed with phpnuke and looks like using it for Site A would make lots of sense. Is there any easy way to switch a site over from phplinks to phpnuke? I see that phpnuke has a section where you can build a "Web Links" directory...would it be possible to migrate the existing phplinks directory into that section of phpnuke? Maybe a way to do it with the database?

I'm guessing such a thing is possible for an expert user, but the stipulation is that I'm really good with html but only know enough of php and sql to implement a pre-existing script while following a detailed online howto. ;-) Advice would be appreciated.

Without seeing exactly how you are using PHPLinks I cannot answer with perfect certainty. (Post your websites link and I can be more specific or e-mail me at jreach72@yahoo.com)

Basically though, if you want to take portions of the database and integrate it into PHP Nuke thats no problem.

Take weblinks for example. You would need to download your MySQL data table from your phplinks site, then rename the fields to match those required in the PHPNuke Links table and then upload the data or merge the two tables.

Easy as pie....if you e-mail me or post for info I can help with more specifics. I have done hundreds of table convertions around PHPNuke and other like portals. As long as the database is the same in this case MySQL its easy...when you change databases it gets more complicated.

Screach.....the sound of your world coming to an end at the sight of the dreaded BSOD!
