Dave, You may want to try Xp setting of Virtual Memory. The amount of Diskspace allocate for this is very important to Visual Foxpro. Try it and let me know. Conan

Hi Leland, There are no timer object on this form. The code uses Select and Copy statements and in the process, updating the progress bar. The progressbar function only update one of the shape object base upon the percentage of completion. No endless loop here. Thanks for the helpful thought.

Win 2k has been updated with SP3 and the PC is 700 MHZ with 256 megs of memory. Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition has been disabled. No luck.

It's a local database on my hard drive. It's the same configuration with 95 and NT. (I think the thread management of 2000 is behaving weird).
