    Win2k Backup--Removable Storage not working

I cannot backup our domain controller. I need to add the tapes to the library, but I cannot open removable storage in mmc. The computer has ArcServeIT installed, but it is an old version. I have stopped its services and plan to use the Win2k backup instead. The Remote Storage service has...

Can't connect more than one client at a time to Terminal Server in Win

Did you check your licensing. Is it possible that Terminal Services thinks you only have one license? Just a thought.

directory not avabile randomly Windows 2000 Server

Just a thought: could it have anything to do with the traffic on the network? Does it make a difference whether you copy the files during peak hours or after hours? Another thought: could you try pinging the server with the ping -t # command (Control-C stops it)? This might help you know...

directory not avabile randomly Windows 2000 Server

Is the server using it's own DNS server for DNS? In other words, is the DNS setting in the TCP/IP setup set to the same IP address as the server's IP address? I have had problems with connections when I was using the DNS of my ISP rather than the DNS of the Primary Domain Controller.

    Implementation

I am by far not an expert, but I think I would put the SMS server on the domain controller. It seems like it just fits there to me. The domain controller takes charge of security and management, and the SMS would just add an additional tool to that server. Although, I really don't have any...

    entire network blank

I have had similar problems. I fixed it by correctly setting up my Active Directory and DNS. My problem was that the workstations were using the DNS of my ISP rather than of the domain controller. I also had to make sure Active Directory could update the DNS on the domain controller. When I...

shannonlapekas, The setup looks good to me. Here a few things that you may want to consider if you have not already thought about them: Database? Depending on how much activity you have in Great Plains, the database may need its own server. Are you going to use Pervasive.SQL or SQL Server...

    Creating Login Scripts

From what I understand, you should edit the group policy for the users that you wish to run the script. Under User Configuration, Windows Settings, Logon , you can specify the script you want to run. I think you would just type in "\\server\bla\bla\audit.exe" in the Script Name box...

Situation I have been trying to setup the Windows 2000 backup on our server. Previously ArcServeIT for Windows NT Version 6.61 was used. The Operating System is Windows 2000. We are using an internal Echo tape drive. Symptoms Currently, every time the computer boots, an application popup...

    VMS Hunt Delay not working

Thanks, that worked great! You were exactly right. We did have two ports that were assigned to the voice mail, and three were assigned to the hunt group 7.

    VMS Hunt Delay not working

I don't understand why our phone system rings so many times. I set up the automated attendant to pickup after 2 rings by setting VMS Hunt Delay #506 to Immediate. Sometimes it picks up after 1 and half rings like it is supposed to. Other times it picks up after 4 or 5 rings. Is there...

Auto Attendant transfer to Call or Hunt group.

I don't know about Partner mail VS 4.0, but you can use the backdoor with Partner mail VS 3.0. On the intercom line, dial 777; Enter 99# for the extension; Enter #2537 for the password; Press 5 to change to the password that you like.
