Hi
We have a remote data center with only occassional visits from humans. There are several tasks that require us to use USB devices (ex., upgrading BIOS). Without a human to help, it isn't possible to insert a USB thumb drive into a server to upgrade the BIOS. I'd like to find a managed USB...
Hi
If I have, say, a 10 Gb Fujitsu XG2000 with CX4 and XFP connections, and I also have (say) a 3Com 4200G Gigabit Ethernet switch with a '1000Base-X' SFP connection, can I connect the two switches together via these XFP/SFP ports? Will the Fujitsu's 10 Gb XFP connection 'slow down' to 1 Gb...

More information. I attached an ADIC Scalar 24 tape library with 1 DLT 7000 and rebooted; a single /dev/rmt0 was created - good.
I then attached an ADIC Scalar i500 tape library with 4 IBM LTO3 drives...
Thanks very much for the suggestion. I determined that my Fibre Channel tape devices are attached via fcs1. So, as you suggested, I ran:
cfgmgr -vl fcs1
and saw this:

Hi
Our AIX 5.2 administrator is on vacation, but I need to do some AIX testing in his absence (please be gentle with me).
I found that some of the /dev/rmt* devices on our AIX system were using the IBM LTO driver, and some were using some generic SCSI driver. So I removed all of the /dev/rmt*...
Hi
I’m using a Red Hat Linux 7.3-based system with a CLARiiON CX300 which has 8 LUNs. /dev/sd* devices have been created for each path to each LUN. Since only one SP serves a LUN at a time, all of the paths to a LUN through ‘the other’ SP are not available. During system boot, whenever...
Hi
Where can I find documentation on the values that go into modules.conf? Specifically, I want to find a list of the parameters to the sd_mod and scsi_mod options.
Thanks!

Hi
I'm trying to use a 1.2 TB disk on a Red Hat Linux 7.3 system, but I see the following when I boot:
Kernel: sdb: Spinning up disk ... <3> Out of memory: Killed process 15 (insmod)
I've searched the Red Hat Linux 7.3 documentation, and can't find mention of a maximum disk size. Where can I...
Thanks for the reply. Problem is, I'm not to the point of creating a file system on this disk (actually, a LUN on a CLARiiON CX300 storage system). I've added a 1.2 TB LUN to the Linux system, and I'm just trying to boot it. When the boot process 'sees' the LUN, it gives the message I...

I found that the Contacts database has a 'Modified' field, that seem to track when the records are added or changed. I'm planning to select records using that field, and then export those from one Outlook environment, then import them to the other Outlook environment. See any flaws in that...
Thanks for the reply! Hm. I don't know Outlook/Exchange Server, but I'm ASSuming that part of the contact record includes a date changed field. Is that true? If so, maybe I could figure out how to export just the changed records . . . .
Thanks!
