Hi All,
In the last 4 to 6 weeks our Groupshield system has started exhibiting strange and random problems.
For instance - the Download and Forward buttons on the Detected Items page have 'disappeared' for a few entries. The system has stopped responding to any Policy settings. And it blocks...
Paul,
IMHO it's nought to do with the firewalls your side or your Exchange 2K box. When we had the problem I spent a day going thru the usual tests with a MS Exchange engfineer. He gave our Exchange 2K system a clean bill. I also tried 3 other router/firewalls that we have (for emergencies) -...
Paul,
Did the service started again after about 24 to 36 hours with no intervention on your part??
If so then this is exact same thing I have experienced 3 times in the last 3 months!
I have not been able to find a reason or a fix.
Can I ask ..... Where are you based and what Mail Service...
Group,
Is it possible to exclude the sender of an email to a Dis/Group if he is a member of the group?? In other words prevent him receiving a copy of the email!
Thanks for any help!

Michael,
Go to Properties for Default Web Server in IIS manager on the Exchange Server machine. On the Web Site tab under TCP Port set the port number you wish to use (8081). Click Apply & OK. Stop and restart the virtual server.
When clients access the virtual server they MUST use the...
Hi,
I think you will find all you need in the MS document PSS ID Number: 254767 - "XGEN: How to Install and Use Archive Sink in Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1 or Earlier".

Dave
Marc,
I don't believe it but it works! Many many thanks. The trick is putting the :<port_number> after the domain name.
All the documentation says put the :<port_number> thus \EXCHANGE\user:<port_number>.
Any other comments??
Thanks again,
Dave
Dear All,
I have a perplexing situation.
Information (in this forum), the MS TechNet reference material, numerous books, all suggest you can change the HTTP default port for OWA from 80 to something else. Some references even encourage this for security reasons. In the Exchange System...
brock,
Are you using Internet Explorer 6 with SP1?? If so it could be this. I just installed SP1 and 'lost' access to PDM from IE.
Cisco are looking into this.
Here's a workaround.
Launch IE - go to any site, minimise IE. Launch IE (another instance) and enter PIX IP (remember https://)...
EB,
Thanks again. No the server is connected to the router thru the hubs like the rest of the network. Everything is connected eventually to a PIX then out thru the router!

Dear EB,
Thanks for reply.
The server connects direct to a 16 way rack hub then on to the LAN where connections spread across 4 other small hubs. There's only 16 machines altogether on network in small office. All cabling CAT5.
No remote sites or RAS connections. Exchange server connects thru...
Hi All,
I do not apologise for posting this on both the Exchange forum and here, it's driving me mad!
Since installing a new Dell 350 server to run Exchange Server our clients randomly lose their connection to the server. At these times you cannot ping the server but it can ping out to the lan...
Hi All,
No doubt this thread belongs on the NT4 server forum but I need all the help I can get!

Many thanks Yizhar. The access-list statement was wrong. I corrected an all OK now.
I set the additional, fixed, IP on the server as you recommended to someone in an earlier thread! Maybe I mis-understood.
Using Exchange IMC.
Am having trouble receiving email from our service provider. Outbound mail is fine.
We have Exchange Server inside a PIX 501 which is connected to the outside world via a BT ADSL router.
IP of router is fixed at (examples) 1.2.3.5, we also have fixed ip's 1.2.3.1/2/3/4...
Riteon,
Use the Cisco yellow cable to connect the PIX to your hub ports 1-4 and a standard patch cable to connect the PIX to the ADSL box from BT.
Your config line : ip address outside dhcp setroute
is no good as the BT box provides no dhcp!
Use : ip address outside 192.168.254.253...
This reply is late I know but I have only just seen your post. I have spent the last 2 weeks gettign to grips with a PIX 501 in the same scenario as you. I think you will find that the line...
ip address outside dhcp setroute
is not working because the line BT router is more than likely not...
I have got our PIX 501 working OK for basic HTTP traffic. I can access the web from most of our workstations BUT not all. It seems I may have the 'connectivity problem' mentioned in another query (thread35-253192). His cure was to upgrade to PIX621.BIN.
All machines running W98 or NT4...
