Hi,

We are a global company spread across 4 continents. We are intersted in distributed archiving solutions since we have offices world wide. We want to archive mails primarily for legislative and statutory purposes.

We use Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange 2000 for messaging purposes. Most of the servers are 4 Processors and we have some 2 processor servers too. Almost on an average, the servers house about 1000 mailboxes.

The archiving that we need to do :

1. Must archive all mails that is sent and recieved internally and for internet mails too.

2. Users should not be aware that archiving is taking place

3. We expect it to work typically like a event sink. If we schedule the archiving to run during off-peak hours, what happens to the mail that was recieved, read and permenantly deleted during the day?

4. What is the hardware and software needed for this ?

5. Can you give me some software demo for this ?

6. Does anyone have any PPT file that explains this in a nutshell.

Expecting your reply.

regards
Nars

Exchange 2000 can archive all email sent and received from all mailboxes on the server. You could set it to archive to a public folder and hide it from any users except admin.

Hi,

I think you will find all you need in the MS document PSS ID Number: 254767 - "XGEN: How to Install and Use Archive Sink in Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1 or Earlier".

Regards,

Dave
