I have a client who has an MC3090 running WindowsCE, syncing to a WinXP PC.
When I get her to ActiveSync, it goes through just fine.
However, as soon as she enables Wireless on her handheld, then when she syncs, she gets this error:
"Communications error
"Cannot start communications with the...
I'm on Windows XP Home Edition 2002 SP 3
I am an Administrator on my PC with a password protected logon.
From the Control Panel > User Accounts, I made a new logon for a friend to use. I made this a Limited account. But when I logon as this limited user, I can acess all of my personal files that...
My sister's PC crashed and she had it replaced. A technician was able to retrieve the files out of all user profiles except for her son's - he had his area password protected. I took the harddrive off the crashed PC and connected it to my PC as a slave drive to try to get the files for my...
I logon to my PC with my username and a password. My user account is an Administrator account in XP. When I go into Safe Mode, I can logon as Administrator, but my username is not an option. Logged in as Administrator in Safe Mode, when I go to Internet Explorer, under c:/Documents and Settings...
I think she'll have to contact her ex-husband's work. This could be a problem, but I don't know what else to do. We know the password - that's not the problem. The problem is that I changed it from a domain to a workgroup, without realizing that the only user set up on the PC was administrator...
I was helping a "friend" and I totally messed up!
The Internet was only accessible from my friend's main home computer, so I had set up a wireless router so that her son’s computer could connect to the Internet. However, the printer was connected to her main PC, and she wanted her son to be...
Thanks! I must've been having a brain freeze that day, because I tried it the next day and was successful. After selecting the Rule I wanted to change, and then clicking Change Rule > Edit Rule Settings, I got a list of conditions (none of them "except".) I hit Next on this window, and got the...
I am having trouble making an exception in my rules, for Outlook 2003. I navigate to Tools > Rules and alerts. From there, I highlight the rule for which I'd like to add an exception, and I click Edit Rule Settings. The list of conditions includes "with specific words in the subject," but the...
I have a Dell laptop which recently updated its "Dell Support Center." Ever since then, whenever I logon, the folder C:\Program Files\Dell automatically opens. I have checked Start > Program Files > Startup, but it's not in there.
I have also gone to the Registry and in both HKEY_CURRENT_USER...
Joey,
Congratulations on being an MVP! After I tell you what I did, you'll know why I'm *not* one! LOL
I had 3 sound files to listen to. I tried one of them, and couldn't get it to work on my PC. So I had one of my co-workers try on his PC and it worked. Ultimately, we must've tried different...
Joey,
Thanks for your reply!
Wave volume has not been muted or turned down.
I tried mp3 and wma files--they worked fine.
Any help is appreciated!
Louise
I'm on Windows XP SP 2
I recently updated to Windows Media Player 11. Prior to this update, I had not used Windows Media Player on this PC.
Since updating, I have tried to play *.wav files. The *.wav files are saved to my harddrive. They look like they're playing (random video going, progress...
Thank you to maxthedork and bcastner! I had this happen yet again within the past week. Here's what I've found from each of your replies:
bcastner: I had this happen on a user machine exactly one week ago and I did this. It seemed to work. However, today the same thing started happening again...
Thanks! Actually, I did copy her files (ie, My Documents, Favorites, etc.) to another location, removed her account from the Control Panel, deleted files associated with her account (including the files the system created) under Documents and Settings, then recreated her account. I put her files...
I am the Help Desk support at a mid-sized non-profit. In the past week, I have encountered the same problem on 2 user PCs (one desktop, one laptop) that I've never seen before. In both cases, the systems are Windows 2000, and we are running on a Novell network (may be irrelevant).
What happens...
xlhelp,
Yes, "Extend list formats and formulas" is checked. There was a blank column, so following reading your post, I removed the blank column. But I still have the same issue.
