Okay, i think i got it: (but correct me if i am wrong)
1) i put your formula in D1 and copied it to the other rows (D2, D3, etc)-
2) i then took the values that were produced from your formula and copied/paste (values) into B1, B2 (etc)
3) wallah...C1, C2 (etc) gave me the sum of A1:B1, etc...
yes- your formula did work, but without the sum.
correct me if i am wrong, are you saying that i would need to perform a three step process:
1) perform your procedure,
2) remove the tilde; and then
3) perform the sum function
thanks for the reply, but it's not giving me the sum of A1+B1 in C1. i am only getting the value of the cell containing ~(and the number).
what i would like to get is the sum of a1+b1 into c1, ("4" in the example below).
a1=1
b1=~3
c1=4
Is it possible to have a formula ignore the tilde and still give me a result from the formula?
ex:
Cell A1 contains the value 2
Cell B1 contains the ~4
Cell C1 contains the formula =A1+B1
I am using the ~4 to indicate that it is 'an estimate' or an 'assumption' of what I think the number...
I have a (access 2000) form with several individual hyperlinks to their respective reports (click a link to open a report). how do i get the 'hyperlink form' to close or minimize when a hyperlink to a report is clicked.
right now, when a hyperlink is clicked and the report opens, the hyperlink...
hum...i didn't even think to consider mstrmage1768's suggestion!!! (that's b/c dbs are not my profession, only a small hobby of mine).
i actually think mstrmagel768's suggestion will work!!
Thanks mstrmagel768!
AND....thank you to everyone else who took time to offer suggestions.
Any other way do accomplish my desire via Access? Even though the link is probably an answer to my question, I was hoping for a way to do it without resorting to a paid link.
I want to re-use a db, (and same queries, reports, relationships, etc.), used for a previous project but field names need to be slightly changed.
Is it possible to change field names in all tables, forms, queries, etc., in a db at one time? Also, if it is possible to change field names at one...
Ah...I didn't think of that! :)
I'm sure after I circulate the "small" db I developed to my company I'll be getting all kinds of comments from the users...I better prepare myself! :)
Is there a way to force the ampersand (&)to become visible in a Text Box?
My company name has an ampersand, but it shows up as an underscore, not as itself. Is there a workaround to get it to show up?
TIA
Thanks again! It's working!
One other question if I may-
I'm curious what the other events, such as "on key press" ; "on change" ; and the other events can do.
So, can you recommend a good link that shows examples of what the 'events' do and/or can be used for?
Thanks again.
Thanks ArtimusTek-
What code and what event do I use if my field has numbers and text, such as an "Address" field?
My "Address" field needs to contain both: "123 Street Name"
Thanks again!!
I would like to have the 1st letter of a word(s) in a field to be uppercase. I've found some help out there but I don't know enough about 'codes' to make get it to work.
Can someone give me the code and simple instructions on where to put the code to achieve what I need?
Form name= employees...
I was getting an "argument" an "object" msg when I orginally left it as is, so I replaced the Me and Name (independantly) with my form name but was still getting the msgs.
I then reverted back to your Me.Name and now it works!! I don't know what I did, but now it works!
PH...Thank you very...
PH-
Does my form name replace the "Me" or the "Name"? (or do I leave the Me.Name as they are?
I'm referring to the line below.
DoCmd.Close acForm, Me.Name
TIA
The 'opnMain' is the button on the active form- the "main" form opens, but the active form remains open.
Private Sub opnMain_Click()
On Error GoTo Err_opnMain_Click
Dim stDocName As String
Dim stLinkCriteria As String
stDocName = "frmMain"
DoCmd.OpenForm stDocName, , ...
How do I make a button close the active form and open another form? Basically, I have a form with a button, that "on click" will take me to the "main form." I want that same button to also close the active form.
So, how do I get a button to have two actions, close the active form and then...
I want my incoming mail, that is being downloaded into my Inbox folder, to go into the folders I created.
However...once the mail is downloaded into my Inbox the mail does not filter into my created folders because Outlook does not show my Inbox as a floder to choose when I am creating my Rule.
