Well to be more clear, it's a voicemail system in use at a company I'm working at. I can't dump it, and they don't know who setup the password on it previously, so they don't know who to contact. In any case, I have to setup a voicemail box for a user, and I need to reset his voicemail box...

I don't have the software for the voicemail system, only for the PBX. So I haven't plugged in a laptop yet. But if the voicemail software is like the PBX software, you have to enter a password prior to accessing it via a data cable.
