Does anyone know how to determine the free space remaining on a cassette?
I'm running BE 8.6 on Win2K.
I have two clients whose jobs seem to be calling for a second tape (after writing to the first successfully,) even though I've pared both jobs back significantly. I realize compression (or...
You can expect issues with ARCserve--period. I think generally (others seem to agree) that if you can wait out any of the fixes/service packs, then do it. I don't apply one unless it specifically addresses current issues I'm having. The "nice" thing about the software is that it will...
I have already applied QO20824. I guess I wasn't clear first time round, but the backup of all machines completes, it's only the verification (fingers crossed) that chokes at this point--and that only on the remote agents.
If you have the option of calling for support (costs $$$) you should --...
Wondering if anyone's had similar issues as the following. The backup server is Win2K, SP2. Remote agents are same or NT4, SP6a. Using ARCserve 2000 with the dubious SP4 applied July 17. Verifications have worked in the past and did initially after the application of SP4.
SP4 was applied to the...
We seem to have proven that AV services are behind some of the problems. We've been advised not to scan Inetsrv, NTDS, SYSVOL, exchsrvr (on all directories), M:\. Since omitting NTDS and SYSVOL from realtime protection and scans, the problem has subsided. The other three directories had...
Slipstream: I'll be sure to post back if we make any progress. We did have another server--same configuration less exchange. It is a file and print server. Shares would become unavailable in much the same way, but no error messages were generated. Problems did begin when it was still NT4, but...
We have a head scratcher here. We have Win2K Server (upgraded two months ago from NT4,) running Exchange 2000 (upgraded at the same time from 5.5.) This machine is a DC and hosts files made available over the network on a share. Conversion went very smoothly as did initial network operation...
You need to set your ARCserve administrative account to a valid account with appropriate permissions. (Actually, CA advises against using the domain admin account any way and recommonds creating an administrative account specifically for ARCserve.)
To change your admin account for ARCserve...
Hi folks,
The following is sort of convoluted, so will provide as many details as possible.
Previously running NT4, SP6a and Exchange 5.5, SP3 on two servers in the same domain. (Not sure if the same Exchange site, but I think so. I'm not an Exchange guru.) One server runs ARCserve 2000 AE...
First, in ARCserve Server Manager, select "backup registry key details when entire node selected." If that doesn't fix, go to the registry on the NT4 clients: client agent\parameter add or modify the registry key BackUpRegistryAsVal to 1. If that doesn't fix the problem, try applying...
Excuse me if I missed it, but I don't see any threads for this particular issue. We are running ARCserve 2000 AE, SP3 on NT 4, SP6a. This is a recent upgrade from ARCserve 6.61 AE. The 6.61 installation used the Image Option, but this was removed and not installed with the 2000 version. I just...
Our issue seemed to resolve on it's own--after the user did a major cleanup of the inbox which had contained many attachments. Just putting out there as an FYI.
Thanks snorkel for the BAOF tip. After initial improvement following the fresh installation, we had major drops in performance (no more than 50 MB/min.) I've applied the patch and performance seems improved once again. We'll see how it goes from here. Thanks!
I have found the uninstall (whether provided by the vendor or as part of the control panel applet,) leaves plenty behind that can mess things up. Here's how I recently cleaned up after automated removals. Use your judgement. See faq478-1795
We've had the same issues. Apply SP3 to ARCserve. You may also try setting your AV software to not scan on read or change access. Though these are recommended by CA, they didn't help us much. It was suggested to me that the upgrade process didn't fully update all dll's, so a complete removal and...
I am receiving the same error (E8602 Failed to read from database. (DBNAME=Individual Mailboxes\<username>\Inbox, EC=EXCH Exchange Agent -- (402) "Exchange system error".)) I run NT 4 SP 6a, Exchg 5.5 SP3, ARCserve 2000 SP3, NAV CE 7.6. Only one inbox out of about 100 mailboxes is...
