Excuse me if I missed it, but I don't see any threads for this particular issue. We are running ARCserve 2000 AE, SP3 on NT 4, SP6a. This is a recent upgrade from ARCserve 6.61 AE. The 6.61 installation used the Image Option, but this was removed and not installed with the 2000 version. I just merged a tape created with 6.61 and the Image Option. When I go to restore by session, I can drill down to the file level on every server except the backup server (which the image backup would have applied to.) It is my guess that I can't see the files without image option installed. Has anyone else seen this behavior? CA's sight, of course, doesn't seem to address the issue.

Session Restore on AS2000 from 6.61 B/U w/Image option

There is a point in what you mention. As the backup by image is significantly different from a standard back up it might be possible that you need the option. I think the best you can do is install the image option from your ARCserve 2000 CD and find out. With of without keycode it will run for 30 days.
