    If their account is hiden, then I guess they have left perhaps. In this case their NT account should be disabled and/or deleted. In which case there is no mapping between the account name and thge security ID. Hence they will not be able to access via OWA.

    I use Norton Speed Disk, which allows me to schedual a defrag on certain time of the day when the server is not doing much. This way it does not slow the server down...it may take a week on 500 GB, but the users don't complain.

    yes it is possible. We have EMC Symm and the facility is available. Although we are not using this option, since it means downtime. But if you are installing a new server it is worth doing so.

    POP is enabled by default on exchange. Do you have a firewall, which may be blocking port 110.

    no. POP3 is one of the protocols that are by default enabled on site, server and recepients. You could choose to disable at diffrent levels. However you need to create an entry in your DNS so the external users could access or use the public IP directly.
