I am trying to install networked printers on my Dell inspiron 5150 laptop. I had them originally but coupla weeks ago, I los t netowrk and Internet connectivity(dont know why). Rebooted all pcs' all fine again, but lost printer connections from laptop. Message after tryng to install net printer...

Try 2 things. Disable the Norton, then try to browse the LAN, that will rule that out. Also, ucheck to see if ICF is enabled.

hmmmm, messenger was turned off as soon as I installed xp pro a looooong time ago. But recently I did another command, I forget it, that also shut another part of messenger off. I did it from Start-Run... I cant remember though, my history in the Run pull-down is gone. I bet thats it.

Well firmware didnt help. Also stopped all cordless phone traffic, problem still showed up. Im startin to thing a bad router.....

Well, Im happy with my linksys wifi router. But usually once a day I have to goto 192.168.1.1 to get my internet connection back. It happens simultaneously on my 2 pcs' and my laptop, doesnt seem to be any warning, and it happens on all 3 at once. It can happen while just surfing, while playing...

I can ping across my LAN when it goes kablooie(sp?) :) It just stops being able to access the internet or email. Anyways, change of plans here. I just got a linksys w11s4pc11 so I can wireless my laptop. So far all 3 comps are ok, Ill see if the troublesome one still has the problem show up down...

Well, change of ideas. I just went with the linksys w11s4pc11 wireless. It has 4 slots for cat 5 and will also talk to the wireless card in my laptop. Installed like a charm and works like a champ. hmmm....now wha tto do with my linksys befsr41 router, guess it will make a nice doorstop..:)

OK, gave it a shot. I'll keep an eye on it and let ya know.
