What Storageworks componients will you be installing? I have implemented the Storageworks backup solution and I ran into a serious problem with the FCTC-II. As an end result, it was necessary to purchase the MDR.
One thing that you may want to try is deleting the tape drive from the device tab, stopping and starting the services and then redetecting the tape device. I have had this happen to me and in talking to Veritas they told me that the PVL database had a corrupt entry. This resolved the problem...
Another thing you may want to look at is to see if there are any corrupt files listed. Check out Technote#193940 on the Veritas technical website.
