We have one user who can't send attachments. She's the only one with this problem. We even went so far as to reimage her machine. Any clues?
Exchange 5.5 SP4, NT 4.0 SP6A, Outlook 2000.
Something to look into: If you are running Workgroup Edition, you can't backup a remote machine, even with agents. Workgroup is limited to the machine on which ARCserve is installed. You need Advanced Edition in order to talk to other machines.
To kill the job, CA recommends using the kill.exe utility that comes with the resource kit.
I stop the job, then go to the Server Manager (NT 4.0) and close the open resources. Seems to work fine.
CA will also tell you to run eseutil and isinteg against your Exchange box. I had a similar...
If the Exchange server is a different box than the ARCserve server, then you need Advanced Edition. Workgroup Edition only backs up the server on which it is installed.

If you have a Win2k server, you can use NTBackup. You must also install the Exchange Administrator on that Win2k server. NTBU will then display Exchange icons and will provide a "proper" backup of the databases. You can direct the backup to any storage medium on the network.

The CA docs on this are contradictory, but it is the case that Exchange 5.5 and Outlook 2000 don't play well on the same box.
This comes from 2 weeks of troubleshooting with CA tech support:
1. Create a brand new ARCserve account and mailbox in NT. Make sure it has all the permissions for NT, for Exchange, for the Backup Agent and for ARCserve Server Admin.
2. Create a new job through the Network window. Make sure...
