I have a system with a single tape drive running arcserve 2000 workgroup.
I am backing up a 12gb database file on a daily basis.
This file is not the online exchange info store file.
I am connecting to a msexchange 5.5 server that has both the backup agent and the msexchange agent for arcserve 2000 installed.
I receive the following message "w3905" Skip node or agent
Not supported in this addition.
Why am I receiving this error?
How can I back it up successfully.
thanks.

Below is what I found on ca website....what are they talking about in the pro pack utility for arcserve it program group? what does this have to do with arcserve 2000?

PROBLEM:
This can happen when backing up another server and it is not set up in the Pro Pack correctly. Look for this blue "i" informational message: N3905 Skip Node or Agent (blitz ( 0.0.0.0 )) - Not supported in this Edition. This does not cause any yellow "!" warning or red "E" error in the activity log, it appears as a blue "i" informational message like everything else in the log. So it can be over looked very easily.
RESOLUTION: This can be fixed by adding the server name to the Pro Pack utility in the ARCserve IT program group.

If the Exchange server is a different box than the ARCserve server, then you need Advanced Edition. Workgroup Edition only backs up the server on which it is installed.
