    I have a thought : since serv-u encrypts account passwords in the .ini, such as "hi9E83858DF661F5573541BEC60905AE38", could there be any possibility that an encrypted password matches a virus signature ?

    yes, its been there for years. NAV was installed in november IMS.

    Well, NAV still finds imaginary viruses in the file. I excluded the serv-u system folder and all is fine.

    Since last night, symantec AV corporate quarantined the .ini file for Serv-U ftp server on 2 of my systems, pretending there is a backdoor.trojan in it. Anyone has experienced this ?

    The formula "CMD" & Reservation.Id outputs "CMD1 234.00", but I want it to display "CMD1234". Format doent seem to work. the Id field is an integer in the database. Anyone knows how to proceed ? Thanks in advance.

    I figured a compromise : I started storing queries on the server, as views, so the VB code part stays generic. And I can select only useful fields in the views, and alias them. Thx for the tips.

    CaKiwi's solution will work if the DOS prog uses standard output, which can be redirected. append "> filename.ext" to your program name. > sign replaces the file if it exists, while >> will append to it.

    A standard unix command TOUCH does just that, set files to the current date. It has been ported to DOS and included with several packages. It came with most Borland programming packages for DOS ; you should be able to find a version somewhere, search for touch.exe. Heh, just found one here ...
