Hey!
As I have made further investigation, there is no way that I can have a clear view since the router is the back of one building and the other one is on the front facia. They won't see each other unless I have to install antennas on the top of both buildings. These solution cost around...

We are redesigning all of our infrastructure to support big web based "Flash Mx" applications over the web. Actually, we are going to be more than 50 so forget about Small business Server edition.
Would it be better if I had 1 administrative server (Exchange, AD, DNS, DHCP) and...

Hi!
Is it possible to find out what is happening in the background when logging of a Windows 2000 domain ? The problem is that it seems to take a while (6 minutes) to unload a user profil. It is possible to somehow see what is being transfered or synchronized with the domain.
Thanx! Mike

hey,
We just had this issue a couple of months ago and we decided to buy 3 HP Scanjet 5490C. These scanners offer Letter and Legal (with Automatic Document Feeder option) scanning with 2400 X 2400 dpi resolution. These scanners work with USB and are easy to install and configure. Here is...
I had a similar problem with unavailable computers in the "my network place". I suggest you could look in the advances parameters of TCP/IP and check the NetBIOS over TCP/IP option. It solved my problem for browsing "my network place". Just a possible solution.
Maybe this program loaded in the registry .....
It would be a test to try and run regedit from the execute menu and then use the search engine to find the program you are looking for "Alset". You could also go through manually under HKLM/software/microsoft/windows/run ...
and find out...
Send me your E-mail address so I can maybe give you hints .... If it's for a report, i can always give you the answer! The following can always be usefull for your report. Using the old Digital Servers with a Mylex card was one of the reasons that caused disk crashes, changing servers to HP...
Another way would be to use the Clean Manager from a batch file. You can use the
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\CLEANMGR /SAGESET:11
command to select what you want to clean. Once done, use the
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\CLEANMGR /SAGERUN:11
command. This is pretty usefull in many cases.
It probably all depends on the boot sequence defined in the BIOS. You should have the floopy in 1st, CD-ROM in second and IDE in 3rd. Saving your preferences and rebooting will allow you to boot from CD-ROM. Insert your Windows 2K CD and you should see a message telling you to strike any key...
Actually, I don't think so cause we are on a Vines/Win2K Pro network and everything seems fine. We have multiple Vines Servers that accept logins from Windows 2K workstations and disks do not crash ... As for disk crashes .. they often crashed on our old servers cause the raid card was...
Without looking at security issues, you can always enable the Built-In Windows 2000 "Guest" account. But then again it ain't the best solution considering security but an alternative to your problem.
