One of my vines server disks crashed, it is being suggested that Windows 2000 Pro used on 6 machines created the disk errors resulting in the failure

Any ideas if this is possible?

Actually, I don't think so cause we are on a Vines/Win2K Pro network and everything seems fine. We have multiple Vines Servers that accept logins from Windows 2K workstations and disks do not crash ... As for disk crashes .. they often crashed on our old servers cause the raid card was defective ...

Hi,

I don't suppose you would be prepared to let me know the name of your company so that I can quote it as a reference, in my report.

many thanks

Send me your E-mail address so I can maybe give you hints .... If it's for a report, i can always give you the answer! The following can always be usefull for your report. Using the old Digital Servers with a Mylex card was one of the reasons that caused disk crashes, changing servers to HP LH6000 servers was the best move possbile i think because we have :

1- Support for hardware
2- no more disk failure
3- stable system

Talk to you l8ter.
