I've had a similar problem with the Win98 backup. Till now, I didn't have a full solution; but I could recover some files from my backup file using the PKZIPFIX.exe (for DOS). I have recovered some files (unfortunately, the more important files... were at the "limbo"). Try to do that...
Info:
1. The Msbackup is giving the message;
2. Through a text editor, I can see that some/part of the information needed is there;
3. The file is there, but seems that was not closed properly (i.e., that hasn't created the index/catalog)
4. The machine had two HD's; the file is at the slave...
I have a file *.qic, which is about 1 Gb. A few days ago, when I needed to restore it, I found a message that says that this is not a valid catalog/catalog is empty. I really need to access this file, and I'm stuck.
